Registration for BIFHSGO’s conference now open

BIFHSGO-logo--trnsprnt-red_jpgThe British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa has  opened registration for its 20th Annual Conference that will take place at Library and Archives Canada from September 19 – 21, 2014. The conference presentations will focus on, but are not limited to, English family history, immigration from the British Isles including Home Children, and genetic genealogy.

To learn more about BIFHSGO’s conference, seminars, presentations, marketplace, and to register, visit the society’s website.

Four of us from Montreal have registered and we look forward to learning and meeting friends to chat about our favourite passion. Already, we have set our eyes on two two-bedroom suites in a nearby hotel. That way, we will have a full kitchen — stocked with dishes and wine glasses, a dining room, and a living room where we will gather each evening for a lengthy debriefing and probably a glass of wine or two.

We intend to spend some time before and/or after the conference doing some research at Library and Archives Canada.

So, who’s planning to join us?
