If you plan to be in Ottawa this weekend, there are two events taking place that may interest you.
On Saturday, April 26, from 1:30 – 3:00 p.m., Ken McKinlay will talk about “Using Social Media for Genealogy Research” at the Ottawa Branch Ontario Genealogical Society’s meeting. Mr. McKinlay will explain how social media sites, such as Facebook, Google+, Twitter, and blogs, can be used to help in your research. Arrive early because networking with tea, coffee, and cookies begins at 1:00 p.m. The meeting takes place at the City of Ottawa Archives, Room 115, 100 Tallwood.
On Saturday and Sunday, April 26 and 27, at the Zoomer Show, drop by to visit the folks from the British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa, the Ontario Genealogical Society, and the City of Ottawa Archives at their booth.
