Irish played key role in fight for democracy in Lower Canada

According to an article, Irish history in Canada and Quebec is far from timid, in today’s Montreal Gazette, Irish-Canadian history is about a lot more than the Great Famine and coffin ships. The article includes several comments from Jane McCaughey, a professor at Concordia University’s School of Canadian Irish Studies.
