Lecture – Irish Family Ghosts – March 13

If you live in the Montreal area and have not heard Professor Jane McGaughey speak, run, don’t walk, to the Atwater Library to hear her lecture on Thursday, March 13, at 12:30 p.m. Dr. McGaughey from Concordia University’s School of Canadian Irish Studies is a wonderful storyteller. To mark St. Patrick’s Day, she will give a talk on Irish Family Ghosts: When Professional Research and Personal History Collide and will discuss the role of the Irish in Canada in the 1837-38 rebellions.

While at the library, take a look around. It was founded in 1828 and is Canada’s oldest lending library. When founded, it was called the Montreal Mechanics’ Institution.
