The British Isles Family History Society of Greater Ottawa (BIFHSGO) has announced the speakers for its annual conference, to be held September 19 – 21, 2014 at Library and Archives Canada in Ottawa.
For its 20th anniversary year, the society will celebrate with an ambitious program that will help family historians delve into their British Isles roots.
The society expects to welcome more than 250 attendees at the event, which has three special themes:
- English family history;
- Immigration from the British Isles, including Home Children; and
- Genetic genealogy.
Information about the speakers is available in BIFHSGO’s news release.
I have attended BIFHSGO’s last two conferences and have found them to be a terrific learning experience. The lectures and marketplace are excellent and, for me, the opportunity to network with fellow genealogists is priceless. This year, I will be increasing my level of participation by speaking at one of the sessions. Details about my presentation and others will be available soon on BIFHSGO’s website. I hope to see you at the conference.
