World Acadian Congress talk set for Bangor, Maine library

The Penobscot County Genealogical Society in Bangor, Maine will host Dona Saucier who will speak about the upcoming Congrès mondial acadien 2014 – World Acadian Congress 2014 at 3:00 p.m., Saturday, March 8 at the Bangor Public Library. Ms. Saucier of Frenchville, Maine grew up speaking both English and French.

The 17-day Congress will be held August 8 – 24 in Quebec, New Brunswick, and Northern Maine and will feature more than 120 family reunions, 200 community events, and many heritage projects. The Opening ceremonies will take place on August 8 in Edmundston, New Brunswick, the National Acadian Day on August 15 in Madawaska, Maine, and the New Beginning ceremonies in Témiscouata-sur-le-Lac, Quebec.
